Introducing the newest chapter in our partnership with knife maker Robb Gray of Graycloud. Just twenty of these fixed-blade knives were made exclusively for Filson.
The 4-3/8” blade is made from Bohler N-690 steel tempered with a recipe to achieve a hardness rating equivalent to 60 on the Rockwell scale. This produces a blade that sharpens easily, retains its edge, and has the toughness to resist chipping in hard use. The flat-ground drop-point geometry provides excellent tip strength with fine slicing ability and control. Full-tang construction yields outstanding strength, and light jimping along the spine provides traction for wet hands. The handle scales are made of reclaimed redwood birdseye burl, secured with copper Corby-screw construction. The handle is carefully hand-shaped for a secure, non-fatiguing grip. Equipped with a copper-lined lanyard hole for additional security.
Each of the twenty individually numbered knives comes in a presentation box with documentation of provenance and a latigo leather sheath.
