Canvas Duffle Bags Ready for Any Excursion
What are Filson Duffle Bags Made From?
Filson duffle bags are made from time-tested waxed-cotton fabrics. The classic Filson duffle was introduced in 1992 and made with our proprietary Rugged Twill. This fabric is a dense, tightly-woven cotton twill that’s extremely abrasion-resistant and lightly waxed to turn away water.
Filson also makes duffles with iconic Tin Cloth. These waxed-canvas duffles are lighter in weight and more water-resistant than their classic Rugged Twill counterparts, and still highly durable.
Can Filson Duffles Be Used as Carry-On Bags?
Most Filson duffles meet major airline carry-on size requirements. While the allowable dimensions vary by airline and the size of the aircraft, all but the largest Filson duffles are allowed aboard most carriers’ full-sized jets.
How Do You Care for Rugged Twill and Tin Cloth Bags?
Filson duffles should not be washed, as detergents will strip the wax from the fabric and reduce its water resistance. Simply brush or wipe off dirt, and let the waxed cotton develop its unique character and patina. Leather straps and handles should be treated with leather conditioner or wax annually to keep them from drying out.
