Ranch Conserve Live
At Ranchlands, it's not about maximizing production for short-term profits.
It's about working with the land to achieve long-term stability.
Evaluating each parcel and selectively rotating cattle to invigorate the natural grasses in the same way bison have done for millennia.
Creating a self-sustaining cycle so the land, livestock and Ranchlands can co-exist for generations.
Duke Phillips III
Ranchlands’ founder and CEO comes from a long line of ranchers. Raising cattle is in his blood. So is a line-in-the-sand stance toward protecting the land. Big Duke’s vision for Ranchlands combines both into a conservation-minded ranching platform – and a successful one at that.
Duke Phillips IV
His friends call him Little Duke, and he runs Ranchlands’ daily operations. His expertise keeps 300,000 acres of land, thousands of cattle and bison, and the natural vegetation and wildlife co-existing in harmony.
Tess grew up in Colorado and is the oldest of the Phillips kids. She manages Ranchlands’ hospitality programs, Leather Shop and business development.
Making the cut
Ranchlands’ Beefmaster cattle aren’t native, but you can’t tell by observing them. Duke and family strictly manage their livestock, keeping only those that thrive on the land. Instead of using wormers and pesticides, they sell the cow that can’t stay healthy. Instead of shooting coyotes, they sell the cow that can’t defend her calf.
The result is a breed that becomes even more resilient each year – leading to a healthier herd, a healthier ecosystem, and a healthier business.
Ranchlands Leather Shop
Faced with tough jobs in unforgiving weather, the crew at Ranchlands took it upon themselves to create leather goods that hold up to the harsh conditions they encounter daily.
We’ve partnered with them to bring you a small run of these products – all custom-made at Ranchlands with the finest U.S.-tanned leather.
Ranchlands Leather Shop
Ranchlands’ land-stewardship practices are catching on throughout the ranching community to the point where Ranchlands has started offering turnkey ranch-management services to like-minded landowners.
Every year, more and more ranches adopt long-term strategies that focus on the balance between a healthy ecosystem and a profitable business.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the beef. It’s about working together to live with the land – for generations.
