Filson Mackinaw Wool is warm, durable, and the cornerstone of our product line since the 1897 Alaskan Gold Rush. Our dense wool is naturally water-resistant, highly breathable, and exceptionally durable. Trusted by sportsmen, foresters, and outdoor professionals, this iconic material protects in a wider range of weather than any other fabric.
Engineered for foresters and patented in 1914, the Cruiser’s outstanding weather protection and utility soon made it a favorite of hunters, woodsmen, and the outdoor professionals. Two layers of warm wool cover most of the torso, right where it’s most needed. The often-imitated Mackinaw Wool Cruiser remains one of our bestselling jackets today.
