Employee become eligible for benefits the first of the month following their date of hire.


Medical, Vision & Rx

Eligible employees and their dependants have the choice between three health plans.

  • Group Health Core Plan (high deductible)
  • Group Health Options Plan (out of network coverage)
  • Group Health Co-pay Plan (no deductible)

Filson covers 75% of the premium employee premium and 50% of dependents; employee’s portion is deducted from their paycheck on a pretax basis.

Employee working outside of Washington State should elect the Option Plan. Out of state networks are: Oregon/Kaiser & First Choice; all other states are in the First Health network.


You and your dependants are eligible to participants in our dental plan. The plan provides for in and out of network coverage for basic, major and preventive dental services. Premiums for this coverage will be deducted from you paycheck on a pretax basis.

Life Insurance

Filson pays for basic life. In the event of your death your designated beneficiary will receive your life insurance benefits.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Filson pays for AD&D coverage, financial protection in the event of an accidental death or dismemberment00.

Long Term Disability

Filson pays for basic LTD coverage with a waiting period and maximum monthly benefit.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Method to set aside pretax funds in to an account to pay for eligible expenses.

401(k) Plan

Employees who meet the minimum eligibility requirements may elect to defer a portion of their salary in to the Plan after 60 days of employment.

Employer Match

Filson may contribute up to 50% of the first 6% of an employee’s contribution. Matching is vested on a 5 year graded schedule.

Safe Harbor

Filson will contribute 3% of each employee’s annual eligible compensation in to the Plan. This contribution is fully vested at the time of the contribution.

Paid time off to be used for purposes at the employee’s discretion.
