Return Policy

We stand behind our products 100 percent.
If you purchase an item from Filson and are unhappy with it for any reason within the first 90 days, you may return your item with a receipt or proof of purchase for a refund or exchange. Items must be returned in salable condition. Non-salable items cannot be returned. If you do not have proof of purchase, at Filson’s discretion you may be offered an exchange or a Filson Gift Card at the current or last-known price.


To Return or Exchange a Filson Item:

  • Visit your local Filson store for assistance
  • Contact Customer Service by phone, email or the form below. Our Customer Service department will contact you within three business days.

Please be aware that products that have been monogrammed, hemmed or altered may not be returned or exchanged. If you wish to exchange your item for another item, please contact our Customer Service Department. If you wish to return or exchange an item purchased at a Filson dealer, contact the dealer about their return/exchange policy. We cannot refund a Filson item purchased from a third-party dealer or vendor.

Gift-card sales are non-transferable, non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash. In addition, we cannot replace lost or stolen Gift Cards.

Filson Restoration Bags and Old Wolf Branded Items are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

What is the return policy for sale items?
Returns are accepted on discount items if received within 30 days of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for a refund. To make a return, bring your item to any Filson store or contact our Customer Service Department to request a Return Authorization (RA) number before shipping your item.
What if I purchase an item that later reduces price?
If Filson reduces the price of any item within seven days of the original purchase, we will honor the lowest price. Proof of purchase is required. Please contact Customer Service so that a price adjustment may be issued.
What is the cost of return shipping?
Shipping is free on returns shipped from within the continental United States. Please contact Customer Service if shipping from Hawaii, Alaska, or the U.S. Territories to set up a Return Authorization (RA). We will ship exchanges to customers with addresses within the United States at our expense. Customers outside the U.S. are responsible for all shipping charges, duties, tariffs and taxes for both returns and exchanges. When shipping, please insure your package for its full value. Filson is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced packages/items. We cannot refund shipping charges.

Returns and Exchanges

Return for Refund

Refunds can be expected to be made to the same form of payment originally used to make your purchase.

Processing times for refunds will be 7 to 12 business days of their being received by our Returns Department. Please note, that a credit issued to your credit card may take up to two weeks to be acknowledged by your issuing bank or credit card institution.

Return for Gift Card

If you used a Gift Card to make your purchase, the refund will be reissued to you as a gift card for Filson credit. We cannot refund a purchase made with a gift card to another method of payment. Gift cards are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash.

Items received as a gift and then returned will either be refunded to you as gift card for the purchased amount or issued the original purchasers payment method. If no purchasing information is available a gift card for the last known value of the item will be issued.

Exchanges

If you wish to exchange your item for another, please contact our Customer Service Department or fill out the Exchange Form at the bottom of this page. If the item was received as a gift, please provide us with the original purchasers name or the date in which you received your item.

We will then ask you to provide us with the color, style number, and size of the item you wish to receive in exchange.

International Returns

When returning an item from outside the United States please contact our Customer Service Department. We will provide you with a Return Authorization (RA) number as well as shipping instructions on how to get your item back to our facilities. Please note, we are unable to provide prepaid return shipping labels to our international customers.

Filson cannot be held responsible for items that are delivered to the wrong address, lost or stolen in transit or otherwise delayed by third-party shipping companies, postal depots, freight forwarders, etc. As such we highly recommend insuring your return package for the full value of the item.

Once you have shipped your item please provide us with the return tracking number so that we may attach it to your Return Authorization.

When setting up an exchange we will do everything in our power to mark your package correctly to ensure you’re not charged additional duties and fees. However, we can’t guarantee that you won’t be charged. Import taxes and duties may be applied at the discretion of your local government. If you have any questions regarding these charges please, contact your local government.

If you reside in the United Kingdom or the European Union, we recommend that you contact our European division as they will be able to better assist you with your returns. They can be reached by email at CustomerCare@filson.com.

Damage, Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item contact ourCustomer Service Department as soon as possible and we'll make every effort to replace the item promptly. Please supply the Representative with your order number and item number from your original confirmation e-mail. Our Representatives will provide you with a Return Authorization (RA) number and a prepaid return shipping label to ship the item.

In the event that the item you receive is different from what you originally ordered please, contact our Customer Service Department. When prompted, provide us with your original order number as well as a detailed description of the differences between the item your ordered and the item you received.

How do I return an item to Filson for repair?

What if I receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item?
Please contact Customer Service as soon as possible at 1-800-624-0201. Have the order number and style number for the Customer Service Representative, and we will make every effort to replace your item promptly.
How will I receive my refund?
Refunds are issued in the original form of payment. Please note that a refund issued to your credit or debit card may take up to two weeks to be acknowledged by your financial institution. A Filson order number or proof of purchase is required for refund.
If you are returning an item that was originally purchased through one of our authorized retailers, you may be issued a Filson Gift Card for the last known retail price (redeemable online at Filson.com or in person at one of our Filson stores).
What if I don't have an order number or it was given to me as a gift?
We will exchange an item without an order number or receipt if all of the product tags are included, the item is not a discontinued style and the product does not show any wear. The last known retail price may be used as a credit toward an exchange, or issued in the form of a Filson Gift Card.
