Comments: I just recently bought my second pair of Filson Merino wool socks. I bought the first pair about six years ago.
I originally bought them for hunting, but after wearing them a couple of times and realized how warm and comfortable they were, they quickly became my favorite socks for work.
I remember trying to find socks like them at my local sporting goods store and clothing stores, but couldn't find any thing that came close to the quality of my Filsons'. After numerous washings and almost daily use, they finally started showing signs of wear. The heels and the area around the side of my toes started getting a little flat. I was tempted to throw them away, but didn't want to part with them. As worn as they were, they still kept my feet warm and dry. I wore them well into spring.
There's nothing like getting top quality for a reasonable price. I think next I might try the all leather Filson boots to go with my new socks.
