Cutting Room - Spreader
The Cutting Room Spreader works closely with the Cutter to ensure that the rest of the Production Team has the materials they need to construct and finish luggage and garments.
1. SET UP LAYS TO BE CUT
a. Secure fabrics so cuts can be spread;
b. Make sure it is the correct type, weight and color as specified on the "Cut Order";
c. Load fabrics to the spreader by hand or hoist; and
d. Verify that marker being used is the proper marker for the fabric width being used.
2. SPREAD FABRIC FOR CUTTER
a. Mark flaws, holes, threads, shades, etc.; and
b. Ensure that the next piece is immediately ready for the Cutter.
3. COMPLETE PAPERWORK
a. Records the Roll Number and other information for each job.
4. HOUSEKEEPING AND MAINTENANCE
a. Responsible for sweeping up and keeping fabric well organized and neat around hoist end of the Cutting Room; and
b. Maintain and repair Spreading equipment and alert Supervisor when new parts are needed.

- Experience in luggage/garment manufacturing

- Experience in using and operating industrial manufacturing equipment

- Occasionally required to move or lift up to 100 pounds with use of hand truck and hoist
- Ability to climb steps to reach spreading machine
- Carry products throughout facility to workspace
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to view small details within 2 feet to inspect quality of products coming through cutting room.
