We had an incredible turn out for our Father’s Day Facebook photo contest and the decision process was a tough job. Because of that we have decided to reward two other participants, Jeremy Dalton and Cindy Shebley, with a special Filson treat and show off their special memories. Enjoy!

This is a picture of my uncle, little brother, Father, and myself (from left to right). My dad is shown here holding a female pheasant on a wonderful hunting trip in Vermont. My dad has shown me how to be a responsible hunter and how to really respect the outdoors and wildlife. I own my passion for the outdoors to him and his photo shows how much enjoyment he really gets from being outside. I love him and look forward to many great hunting adventures and a great fathers day.

Although he’s been gone for many years my father was, and is, my hero. He was the ultimate outdoorsman – a California State Fish & Game Captain who was honored with the Medal of Valor for disarming a man at gunpoint. He loved to hunt, fish, hike and camp in the western US wilderness. His dream was to retire to a cabin in the woods – which he built. In this photo he’s breaking ground on that dream in Big Bear Lake, CA. The little helper beside him is me. Circa 1960
