The much awaited opening day of any season brings back the memories of seasons gone by.
The sights, smells, and sounds bring back any hunters willing to get out of bed early to beat the sunrise and settle into their favorite spots. The familiarity of the senses that accompany hunting are powerful; the chilling morning air that shocks your senses as you take the first steps out of your warm home, the crunch of frosted dirt under a boot, and the sounds of silence as you nestle into your hide just before the sun peaks over the fields are all staples of adventure and dedication. This short photo essay is a tribute to the senses that bring all of us back, time and time again, into the field.
