Throw Back Thursday: The Trucker Jacket

April 18, 2013
Filed in: Heritage, Throwback Thursday, Travel

Filson Trucker JacketAfter four years of constant use, intrepid excursions around the world, and endless encounters with the bottom of truck beds, duffle bags, and carry-ons, this trucker jacket speaks for itself.  Displayed next to a brand-new trucker — fresh from the factory floor — the beauty and character of age is made distinct and compelling.  The oil finish cracked and patterned, the moleskin collar softened and lightened in color, the buttons brazen and fatigued; all reminders of the memories made while worn.  From the Great Wall of China to the rocky wind-torn shores of Washington, the Oil Finish Trucker Jacket yearns for more.

  • This is a great visual, thanks for sharing. I bought this jacket over a year ago and I feel like I am just breaking it in. I will have this jacket for amy years to come.

  • Have a very similar oilskin jacket from Dryza-bone, out of Australia. It’s the perfect urban trekking jacket (especially drizzly treks). The only thing I’d add, is to tell people to order these BIG! One, even two, sizes above what you’d normally wear; because this is the perfect layer jacket, and without a little room to do so it loses some of it’s functionality (and even some charm). 😀

  • Will these ever be put back into production?? Mine was ‘lost in the coatcheck’ a few weeks back and I am absolutely choked to see that they are no longer being made! I see that filson has some similar jackets, but they don’t have the moleskin bits.

  • Jacob, sadly as of now there are no plans to go forward with more of this specific jacket. Our Short Cruiser Jackets are probably the closest option available currently.

  • this jacket was stunning. its a shame that filson wont be producing these again. i keep trying to find one second hand and they are just ridiculously priced. give the customers what they want, filson!
