Travel Vest on a South Africa Safari

Facebook Fan John McDermott shared his African Safari story with us and noted that his Filson Travel Vest was a trip essential.

Filson First with Kristen Durbin Monroe

We all remember our first hunting camp experience, our first fish caught on a fly and scouting that deer all season until you finally got him. Filson Facebook fan Kristen Monroe brought us along for her first pheasant hunt and many more after that. At Filson, we hope to become a part of not only your experience but your tradition. Thanks for sharing your story, Kristen!

Spring hot spots for bass

We are all getting antsy to get out on the water and get to fishing for freshwater bass. One of our favorite fishing bloggers, Dave from Fishing Moz, understands the early Spring hot spots for the species, especially when it comes to the Northeast region. If you are looking to cast a line soon, take his word for it.

  • Bluffs: Rock walls that lead into very deep water. They are hit by the sun during the day and make for warmer temperatures for the fish to gather.
  • Wodded Flats: Another hot spot in the Spring. Catch them while the sun is hitting the wooded flat. The fish will be sure to rise to your line.
  • Suggested bait: Spoonbills, suspending crankbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits and Texas rigged tubes

Gone fishin’

Filson fan Mats Öberg says that his wading jacket is in good company for the upcoming Spring season. We couldn’t agree more, all he needs is a pair of Poplin Angler Shorts.

Dan Dearden staying warm in Big Sky in the Filson Tin Cloth

Thanks Dan. As much as we love that coat, we hope Spring makes its way to your doorstep soon.

“I live in the Heber Valley near Park City, Utah and Mother Nature keeps teasing us with a warm day and then winter weather comes again. That’s ok – just another opportunity to wear my Double Mackinaw wool coat or my Filson Tin Cloth with wool liner. I travel throughout Utah, Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, and Minnesota, but I never get cold due to my large wardrobe of Filson products! All the Best!” – Dan Dearden
